Sylvania Paine to William Paine

deed Recorded 16th July 1813

Know all men by these presents that I, Sylvania Paine of the State of Georgia and County of Columbia, in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and unto my beloved Son William Paine and also for divers other good causes and considerations, me, the said Sylvania Paine moving, have given granted and confirmed and by these presents do give grant and confirm unto the said William Paine: 

two negros (to wit) Abram and Lucy; also two feather beds furniture and bedsteads; one dun colored cow with her calf a red and white color; also one red cow with white spots; also two sows of a sanded color; also the whole of my household furniture including my Kitchen furniture, pots, pails;

I, To have, hold, and enjoy the above mentioned property with all and singular its increase unto the said William Paine, his Executors, Administrators and assigns to the only proper use & behoof of the said William Paine, his Executors, administrators and assigns for ever and I, the said Sylvania Paine, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents the aforesaid negroes Abram & Lucy and beds, furniture, bed stead, cows and calf, sows, and the whole of my other household furniture Pots, Pails. Against me, the said Sylvania Paine, my Executors, administrators & assigns, and all and every person or persons whomsoever which said negros Abram & Lucy, beds, besteads[sp], and furniture, cattle, hogs, pots, pails, I as aforesaid. I, the said Sylvania Paine have put the said William Paine in full possession in the presence of the subscribing witnesses in witness of which I have hereunto my hand & seal, this eleventh day of November and year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twelve.
